Our Mission

To encourage and support athletes at all stages of their running pursuits by helping them reach their full potential. The club is focused on creating a friendly and fun environment with workouts and races intertwined with social gatherings.

The West Valley Track Club is a no-hate, no-racism, no-bullying team that stands for justice, equality, and peace. We exist to support each other and stand as strong allies for each other and for those in need.

Code of conduct

We are committed to fostering a constructive and inclusive community where members can enjoy the benefits of running in a supportive environment. To ensure a positive experience for all, we have established this Code of Conduct outlining the expected behavior of our members. By joining West Valley Track Club (WVTC), you agree to abide by the following principles:

 

Ideal Behavior:

 

1. Be a Positive Team Member:

Be a positive and supportive team member. Encourage and uplift your fellow runners and competitors, recognizing and celebrating their achievements.

 

2. Contribute to Team Morale:

Contribute to a positive and uplifting atmosphere within the club. Your attitude and actions should enhance team morale and cohesion.

 

3. Encourage Growth:

Support and encourage fellow members and competitors to become better athletes and individuals. Share your knowledge and experiences to help others grow in their running journey.

 

4. Embrace Diversity and Inclusion:

Respect and celebrate the diversity of our members.

 

5. Use Social Media Responsibly:

When representing WVTC on social media, maintain a positive and respectful online presence. Avoid negative comments or posts that may harm the reputation of the club or its members.

 

Positive Community Formation:

 

6. Foster a Sense of Belonging:

Actively work towards creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Help new members feel welcome and supported within the club.

 

7. Communicate Openly:

If you have concerns or witness behavior that goes against this Code of Conduct, communicate with club leadership promptly and openly. We value transparency in resolving issues.

 

8. Attend and Participate:

Actively participate in club activities and events, as your involvement contributes to the overall success and sense of community within WVTC.

 

9. Promote WVTC Values:

Encourage fellow members to adhere to the values outlined in this Code of Conduct. Our collective commitment to positive behavior strengthens the fabric of our running community.

 

Prohibitions:

 

10. Bullying:

Members shall not engage in any form of bullying, harassment, or intimidation, including but not limited to verbal, physical, or online abuse. Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, ability, or any other factor will not be tolerated.

 

11. Assault and Battery:

Physical violence or any form of aggressive behavior towards fellow members, coaches, or any other individuals during club activities is strictly prohibited.

 

12. Stalking:

Stalking, unwanted and persistent attention, or any behavior causing discomfort to other members will not be tolerated.

 

13. Performance-enhancing drugs / rule violations:

As a USATF-affiliated club, WVTC complies with the policies, protocols, and rules set forth by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). We strongly believe that there is no place in running for performance-enhancing drugs. As USADA’s policies on anti-doping as well as the broader sporting community’s knowledge of and controls against doping evolve, WVTC will continue to enforce the latest regulations. Further, WVTC does not condone cheating or rule violations of any kind in competition.

 

Enforcement:

 

At the discretion of the board, violations of this Code of Conduct may result in consequences ranging from warnings to suspension or expulsion from the club, depending on the severity of the infraction.
