Kezar Track Workout

Marathoners: Today the Barbary Coach prescribes a 2x2 mile workout with each 8 lap set run like this: First and fifth 400 at 10K pace, then settle into your Half Marathon goal pace.

Cross Country folks: plan on running some hilly 1200s at the track. If we do the 1200s, men shoot for 5-6 @ 10K pace with 50% recovery. Women can run Hilly 600s (one big oversized lap) at 5K pace (7-10 reps) with 75% recovery. Jack will let you know at practice if the workout changes.

Every Tuesday, West Valley TC meets at Kezar Stadium, San Francisco at 6pm to run an organized track workout. Each workout is designed for target races such as track 5K or half marathon. We come in full force and get fired up from everyone's energy! Come experience it yourself!

Matt Jablonski FTW in a stellar 1:05:41, Pádraig Ó Laoghaire 3rd in 1:09:09, Ryan Irwin 7th in 1:11:36, Iain Whiteside with a 1:14:14 for 12th. Pete Kruse in 1:18:55, Diego Blanton, Kyle BrocklehurstNick Enthoven, Matt Chronert, Neil Gilfedder, Laurentiu Dascalu and Shawn Tydlaska close together under 1:22.

Katie Williams 3rd woman overall and sub 6 pace with a phenomenal 1:18:06. Ibet Allen 9th in 1:22:52, Alyson Barret 18th in 1:25:36, Rebecca Wheeler 19th in 1:25:58

 

Also, we have a double WVTC win in the 5k: Casey Roche wins in 16:31 and Aileen Cole wins in a very speedy 17:57.

2015 Annual Banquet

 

The banquet is our annual celebration to socialize in our best non-sweaty attire, have a beverage and bite with your teammates (and their significant others), while cheering all of your running accomplishments over the past year! The banquet took place on Saturday, June 20th at Sports Basement - Bryant Street.  The event included a slide show with photos from throughout the year, awards, giveaways, potluck meal, drinks, after party and concert performed by Matt Kane!

 

Thank you all for coming making this our best banquet ever!

On May 3rd, 2015, West Valley TC competed at the 5K4Play in Portola Valley. The challenging 5K road race ran along Portola Valley Road with the first half downhill and second half uphill.
